Dakota Ferreiro aka “Miss Dakota”
All around creative, entrepreneur & mentor. A professional dancer, actress, choreographer, Producer/ Director, DJ, self proclaimed funny girl. With decades of experience performing on stage & screen, working behind the scenes, instructing & mentoring. Producing stage shows, creating opportunities for entertainers and bringing musical stylings behind the decks onto the dance floor.
Growing up in the Bronx, Dakota, of Puerto Rican and German descent, always followed her passion to perform. Dancing at an early age, studying at the Bronx Dance Theatre under renowned faculty, then received an arts scholarship to Fieldston Arts Academy, where she was bitten by the acting bug. While attending a Performing Arts High School in Westchester, NY, her professional dance career began at 15 years old on stage alongside Bob McGrath of Sesame Street and a year later as a principal dancer on MTV’s The Grind. Rounding out her dance training, Dakota also studied ballroom and Latin dance under world champion competition dancers.
Just out of High School, her passion for acting grew. She received a scholarship to join David Mamet’s prestigious Atlantic Theatre Company and continued to study acting at HB Studios in New York City. Paused by an opportunity to tour overseas as a dancer, then shortly after moved to Los Angeles under Agency representation, where she continued her training with renowned acting coach Aaron Spieser and started performing with legendary artists including Enrique Iglesias, Gypsy Kings, Prince, George Michael, Maroon 5, and Calle 13, Marco Antonio Solis.
Performing on the Emmy’s, Latin Grammys, Imagen Awards, Guys Choice Awards, LipSync Battle, The Tonight Show, Oprah, in Commercials such as Honda & iPod, & so much more….
During this time Dakota was also a member of World re-knowned Salsa Company ‘Salsa Brava’ led by Luis Vazquez
Newly introduced to Hollywood life, Dakota was invited to be the stand-in for Jennifer Lopez for almost a year on set with the movie ‘The Cell’. In addition for Jennifer’s L’Oreal commercial.
During this experience, Dakota had the privilege of sitting in on dailies with the production team and director, Tarsem Singh, as she was invited by the Director of Photographer Peter Laufer Expanding her intrigue for movie making.
Moving on to perform as a soloist for over a decade in the in the style of Burlesque Dance, beginning at the infamous IVAN KANES FORTY DEUCE In Los Angeles & Las Vegas captivated her audiences dancing to the tunes of a sultry 3-piece band in her extravagant custom-designed costumes. In addition, starred in the Zalman King-directed docu-drama series of the same name, “Forty Deuce” on Bravo (Bravos 1st Reality Series) which chronicled the opening of the first Forty Deuce club in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino and showed her fans a behind-the-scenes look at the training, preparation (and drama…) involved in her live stage show.
As a well-known burlesque performer and captivating on-camera personality Miss Dakota put the classic Art of Burlesque in the contemporary Hollywood spotlight. Combining the Art of “Tease” with extensive training in all genres of dance from ballet to salsa to flamenco to jazz and her Puerto Rican flare, Miss Dakota peaked in her game as a burlesque star. Her signature burlesque act has been the highlight of many high profile A-list events including for legendary musician Sting, M.A.C. Cosmetics, the House of Campari with W Magazine, VOGUE Magazine’s party for the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Gala in New York City, Red Bull, Belvedere, the Rock Your Fashion series with AOL & 944 Magazine, the launch of Victoria’s Secret at Lanoro in Poland. National Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Benefit ‘Les Girls’ alongside actor Steven Weber.
Her Solo Dance career propelled her into the spotlight on stage & screen appearing as a celebrity guest on VH-1’s hit show “Rock of Love 2” starring RockStar Bret Michael’s Carson Daly’s Mardi Gras Special & Carson Daly’s “30 Seconds of LA,” Other television appearances include E!’s “Party at the Palms,”and Will Smith’s series “All of Us.”
Simultaneously starring in acting roles, such as the award winning Horror film “Bad Reputation” Directed by Jim Hemphill. The Award winning short directed by Ameenah Kaplan “Man with a Movie Camera” as well as other credits including Zalman Kind Memoirs of a Mad Man. Features in Nick Vallelonga’s “Stiletto” & Rafael Soto’s “Shattered Pitch” And a choreography credit for Cuba Gooding JR movie, ‘What Love Is?’
Named burlesque expert, Miss Dakota became the go-to, not only for women inspired to learn but also venue owners craving to recreate the magic Dakota brings to the stage.
Sharing her enthusiasm for the art of burlesque, dance, and fitness with her fun and sexy workout she created called "Miss Dakota’s Burlesque Body Workout" that allows women
to let go of their inhibitions and build confidence while slimming down and toning. The Burlesque Body workout, as featured in Latina, Angeleno magazine, 944 Magazine, Young Hollywood, and others, was offered at exclusive gyms like EQUINOX and private workshops around the U.S.
A natural leader, taking on many projects as a Producer / Director/ Consultant; bringing the 1st burlesque stage show to Puerto Rico at the el San Juan Hotel. Consulting/ Creative Director & talent producer at Jack Rabbit Arizona,Teddy’s Room Dallas TX and for the Houston Hospitality Group Los Angeles, Single handedly curating & training talent, building musical repertoire, costuming and directing entertainment. For such venues; La Descarga, No Vacancy, Harvard & Stone, Por Vous. While Leading the dynamic entertainment company DOLLHOUSE ENTERTAINMENT Los Angeles for 5 years.
Producing / Directing / Choreography & Costuming live stage shows; Les Dolls, Miss Dakota’s Gypsy Rose, Bad Betty, Burlesque Brunch LA, & Concrete Kiss, KCRW’s Annual Prohibition New Years Party. As well as producing / directing entertainment for corporate clients; Amazon Prime, Lucky Brand Jeans, Red Bull to name a few. Directing Awards show Cinemoi Fashion & Film Award 2015 and even creating & producing Miss Hollywood Regional Pageant for Miss USA Organization

DJ Miss Dakota born into musical diversity, with disco, fresstyle, funk, soul, pop, rap, salsa, and Rock n’ Roll playing in her home. A lover of house music, sneaking into clubs as a teenager and dancing at NYs top nightclubs weekends while working at a record distribution company days & auditioning intermittently. No wonder her unique Open Format style reflects just that.
Miss Dakota has DJed an impressive list of venues,
corporate events and private parties. With In-Store
Events, Fashion Shows, Ultra Lounges, Restaurants &
Nightclubs from NY to Miami, Los Angeles to Australia… with a continued 6 year residency, at SPiN Lounge NYC (2 locations).
MUSIC has always been a passion. Sitting in on
production sessions with producer friends & associates
from an early age heightened her interest in musical
expression. This also translates as a dancer working with live musicians. Miss Dakota started DJing in the early
2000s in NYC (under legendary Producer Jellybean
Benitez) & in Miami. Opening for Kid Capri in Las Vegas. Taking focus in late 2010s in Los Angeles & NYC.
